A few testimonials from wedding couples:

From Sarah and Jeremy, 2009:

Our wedding weekend at Tamakwa was amazing. To this day I still get comments about how it was “the best wedding ever” and we owe that to the truly incredible setting. The camp atmosphere was so much fun, and our guests had a great time hanging out by the campfire, sleeping in cabins, eating in the dining hall and dancing the night away to an awesome live band on our wedding night.

Something else that might not be expected was the incredible food. Everything meal all weekend was incredible, from our Friday night BBQ to our amazing wedding reception meal. Craig and his team were so accommodating through the entire process, which we really appreciated. If I could do the whole weekend over again, I would in a second. In fact we talk about having a reunion weekend at Tamakwa for our 5 year anniversary!

From Bromley & Matt, 2010:

Keeping with our love of the outdoors and knowing we wanted a wedding in nature, it was the perfect setting for our celebration.  Tamakwa is more than a venue.  It offers a setting like no other, friendly staff who are there to participate in your experience and ultimately comes with an all round relaxed vibe that sets your wedding up for a weekend to be remembered.  We could not have been more happy with our experience.  From the initial ride to the camp in the big old wooden boat; the Friday night roaring camp fire; watching our guests zip line and sail hours before the ceremony and the amazing food and friendly staff… it was a perfect weekend.

Our family and friends still rave about it and we quite often get messages asking for a 5 year celebration back at the camp!  Having a wedding at Tamakwa takes the pressure away from a “big day” as you have a “big weekend” where you actually get to see and socialize with guests from Friday night to Sunday morning.  It allows guests to mingle and really get to know each other and for the hosts to get to see everyone and actually speak with your guests for more than a minute!

Our experience working with Craig and the staff was also unforgettable.  Craig was patient and kind, offering advice and guidance when required.  He was able to coordinate all our requests with his staff including food allergies, mobility access for my elderly grandparents, and cabin changes on the fly!  The staff were friendly, accommodating and all round perfect.  They never failed to say “hi” when you crossed them on the path and went out of their way to ensure everyone was taken care of.

We loved our wedding so much as did our photographers…you can read more about in the 2011 Toronto Life wedding guide.  Also photos from the big day can be seen at http://josephandjaimeweddings.blogspot.ca/2010/09/bromley-matt.html
