Tamakwa’s Landsports program encompasses numerous team sports and other games. They include basketball, beach volleyball, soccer, softball, baseball, ultimate frisbee, and other field games, as well as other smaller camp games such as shuffleboard, ping pong, quoits, horseshoes, nok hockey, and of course tetherball. The program is filled with various award levels for skill development through drills and exercise, intra-camp tournaments, intercamp tryouts, practices and competitions, and plenty of free time for scrimmaging, cabin challenges, and so much more.
The Landsports program organizes and implements tournaments throughout the summer for campers of all ages in various sports. Full-day friendly intercamp competitions with neighboring camps are highlights for many of camp’s athletes. For many, there is nothing better than being a participant in representing their own camp in competition. A typical day of competition includes roller hockey, softball, beach volleyball, basketball, half-court tennis, soccer, archery, swimming, sailing, and climbing wall, as well as a comedic improvisational event.
