An ontario summer camp classic, Tamakwa’s archery range gives campers a chance to learn this traditional skill under strict supervision and safety rules. Many campers take extreme pride in learning to use a bow and arrow and it can take only a few summers to achieve the highest level of Tamakwa’s archery award levels, the Gold Award.

With bows and arrows of various sizes, campers of all ages can begin to learn to shoot an arrow at a target in front of them (although beginners sometimes hit the target next to theirs). Intermediate and advanced archers compete together to score the highest points with 6 arrows and also compete to represent camp in archery during multi-sport intercamp competitions.
